< Tale of the Five Honorables >
Over the years, texts have been recovered from numerous sites in remote parts of Vestus. These texts were found to have all been written written in the ancient wolven runics of Ages past. Below is the inscriptions of one such passage, roughly translated into the modern tongue of the world today, that describes the story of how the Deities came to be. Certain words are not yet translated, due to their meanings being unknown. These words have been italicised. (A Layman's term version is below the original text.)
Scorch and Sun, River a-run,
Once as two now rests as one
Green as Gvadht, Lush as Life,
Once was two yet now one lies
Once there were four, now but two
And one stood alone, a single soul harul
Four Alpahn dreamed of the prophecies of yore
And would go into the sky, to fly and soar
They were then told "Head to the peaks of the Famcal-leon,
The highest mount Vestus has ever known."
A collection of kin began at once
Kinsman of Brawn, Brains, Will, not dunce.
Twelve were carried into mountain high
Only a lot of four survived
The prophesied ones stood mighty tall
remembering those who perished answering their calls
Gravath ti, Honorable ones
Then came cries of agony, pain and might,
Yet on this night the mancath shone bright
Not too long before the fasrals begun
One bound out of the ruins, unhurt and undone
This soul harul, descendant of Kamand,
was the rightful Darzh of the land
He had roamed Vestus before this time
Alone, alone, in the great Calhvin
Deemed honorable again once more
The Darzh-lo was redeemed of wrongdoings before
Along with the four of the kin hasul
The Darzh-lo was allowed to rule
Back to the mountain they all did go
Ahnan hal, to the pools below
Each took a drink, feeling refreshed
Then headed down for their well-needed rest
Awoken once more, known now by different names
Gravath ti, Honorable ones
Given responsibilities of five traits each
Required to fulfill the promises made
Blood bound by the water, protectors of old and ages to come
Ascended into the sky
Immortal henceforth
Gravath ti, Honorable ones
Valorth amh Gravath
The long-forgotten texts read of the ancient packs. While two remain today, there were once four main groups of wolves who all roamed the lands of Vestus. The texts then mention the dreams of some named the Alpahn, who apparently had a set of prophetic dreams. These dreams told the Alpahn that four kinsman would be chosen, and these wolves would "go into the sky, to fly and soar". In their dreams, they were also instructed to head to the peaks of a mountain called the Famcal-leon, "The highest peak Vestus has ever known." This mountain is believed to be the since renamed Arrow's Tip, a peak part of the mountain range known as the Jagged Peaks. At once, these Alpahn began to find wolves that fit the characteristics of true heros - Those with brawn, brains, and willpower. Twelve were chosen, and they head out to answer the prophecy. Sadly, only four survived. These four were considered to be the prophesied ones, and were called the "Gravath ti, Honorable ones". These four remembered the souls of those who lost their lives in the mountain caverns, and a ceremony of sorts was held for the lives lost. However, unbeknownst to the wolves, a fifth had survived, and emerged from the mountain not too long after the ceremonies. This wolf was then found to be a direct descendant of a mighty ruler named Kamand, who is believed to be a revered member of the packs of old. This wolf was then made almighty ruler of sorts, and he, unbeknownst to the four chosen ones, went back to the mountain to drink from some sacred pool.
